Agreeing to these terms

These Terms and Conditions are an agreement between you and the independent developer who builds and maintains ScreenForm. ScreenForm is not a company. In this document, "we" and "us" mean that developer, "ScreenForm" means the macOS application and this website, and "you" means the person using them. You can reach us at developeraarush8@gmail.com.

By downloading, installing, or using ScreenForm, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not install the app, and delete it if you already have.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information and forms part of this agreement.

You must be at least 13 years old to use ScreenForm. If you are using it on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms, and "you" then means the organization.

The license we give you

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use ScreenForm on Mac computers that you own or control, for your own purposes, whether personal or commercial.

You may not:

• Copy, redistribute, resell, rent, or sublicense the app.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble it, except to the extent that law expressly permits despite this restriction.
• Remove or obscure any copyright or attribution notice.
• Use the app to build a competing product, or to extract its models, prompts, or logic for that purpose.
• Circumvent the action limits on the free plan, including by creating multiple accounts to avoid them.

We keep every right we do not expressly grant you here.

Your Mac and the access you grant

ScreenForm needs macOS permissions to work, including Screen Recording. Granting them is your decision, made in System Settings, and you can withdraw any of them at any time. Section 02 of the Privacy Policy lists each permission and what it is used for.

You are responsible for what you point ScreenForm at. Because the app can read whatever is on your screen, you agree that:

• You will not use it to capture material you are not authorized to access, view, or process.
• You will comply with any confidentiality obligations, employment policies, and contractual duties that apply to the material on your screen.
• Where the material contains personal data belonging to other people, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to process it, and for meeting any obligations that come with that.
• You will not use it to capture another person's screen, device, or communications without their knowledge and consent.

Your account

The free plan requires an account, created by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that account secure, and for everything done through it. Tell us promptly at developeraarush8@gmail.com if you believe someone else has gained access to it.

You may close your account at any time. If you use your own API key, you do not need an account at all.

Plans, actions, and payment

ScreenForm has no subscription. There are two ways to use it.

Free plan

You get 15 actions per calendar month at no cost. One action means one question that we answer. Every feature is included, and no card is required. Unused actions do not carry over into the next month.

The free plan is paid for out of pocket by one person. If demand grows beyond what that can sustain, we may reduce the monthly allowance, pause new free signups, or pause the free plan entirely until it is sustainable again. We will say so in the app and on this site when it happens, and using your own API key will keep working throughout. We would rather tell you this plainly here than have the service quietly stop working one day.

Your own API key

You may add your own Anthropic API key for unlimited use of the app. We charge you nothing for this. Anthropic charges you directly for the tokens you consume, at their rates, under your agreement with them. We have no visibility into and no responsibility for those charges.

If we ever introduce a paid plan, we will publish its price and terms before it takes effect, and it will not apply to you unless you choose it.

Using your own API key

If you supply an API key, you confirm that you are entitled to use it and that doing so does not breach your agreement with the provider. The key is stored in the macOS Keychain on your machine. We never receive it.

Requests made with your key go directly from your Mac to Anthropic and do not pass through our servers. Your use is then governed by Anthropic's terms and usage policies as well as these terms. You are responsible for all costs, rate limits, and account consequences that follow from that usage.

Removing the key from ScreenForm deletes the app's Keychain entry. It does not revoke the key at Anthropic. If your key has been exposed, revoke it in your Anthropic account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use ScreenForm to:

• Break any law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
• Capture or process material you have no right to access, including another person's private communications, accounts, or devices.
• Monitor employees, students, or anyone else covertly.
• Defeat access controls, licensing, paywalls, or digital rights management on other software or content.
• Generate material that harasses, defames, or endangers someone, or that sexualizes minors.
• Attack, overload, probe, or reverse engineer our infrastructure, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to it.
• Resell access to the service, or run it as a service for third parties, without our written agreement.
• Automate the app to generate volume beyond ordinary personal or business use.

Requests made through our proxy are also subject to Anthropic's usage policies. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you are breaching this section.

What AI answers are

ScreenForm sends what you circled to a large language model and shows you what comes back. That output is generated, not retrieved from a verified record, and it can be wrong.

When ScreenForm extracts structured data such as a table, it is designed to flag values it could not read clearly rather than fill them in with a plausible guess. That is a deliberate property of the feature and we take it seriously. It is not, however, a guarantee that everything left unflagged is correct. Character recognition can misread a digit. A model can misinterpret a chart. You should check anything that matters before acting on it.

Answers may also vary between runs on identical input, and the same question asked twice may not produce the same result.

Your content and the output

What you capture and what you type stay yours. We claim no ownership of them. You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the service, which means transmitting your request to the model provider and returning the answer to you.

As between you and us, the answers ScreenForm returns to you are yours to use. Bear in mind that generated output may not be eligible for copyright protection in some jurisdictions, that similar output may be produced for other people, and that you remain responsible for checking that using it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

We do not use the contents of your requests to train models.

Our intellectual property

ScreenForm, its name, its logo, its interface, and its underlying software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. These terms give you a license to use the app, not any ownership of it.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely and without obligation to you. You do not have to send us feedback.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep ScreenForm working, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. The service depends on your network, on Apple's operating system, and on model providers we do not control.

We may change, add, or remove features. If we remove something significant or reduce the free allowance, we will give you reasonable notice first. We may also stop offering ScreenForm entirely, in which case we will tell you before we do, and the app may stop working once our proxy is shut down. If you use your own API key, the app's local features can continue to work independently of us.

We may release updates. Some updates may be required for the app to keep functioning.

Third party services

ScreenForm relies on services we do not operate, including Anthropic for model responses, Google for sign-in, and a search provider for web results. Your use of those services is subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for their acts, omissions, availability, or content.

Where ScreenForm surfaces links or sources from the web, we do not endorse or vouch for what is on the other end.

Disclaimer of warranties

SCREENFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR FREE, OR THAT ITS OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. Where that applies to you, the exclusions above apply only to the extent the law permits, and you may have rights that these terms cannot take away. Nothing here limits your statutory consumer rights.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF SCREENFORM, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE.

BECAUSE SCREENFORM IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE AND WE NEVER TAKE PAYMENT FROM YOU, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR SCREENFORM WILL NOT EXCEED USD 100.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or cost, including reasonable legal fees, brought by a third party and arising from your use of ScreenForm in breach of these terms, your breach of law, or your infringement of someone else's rights. This includes claims relating to material you captured that you were not entitled to capture.

Ending this agreement

You can end it at any time by deleting the app. If you have an account, you can ask us to close it.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the service. Where the circumstances allow it, we will give you notice first.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so, including sections 09, 10, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 18.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [your state or country], without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and to rely on the mandatory consumer protections of that country.

Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us at developeraarush8@gmail.com. Most problems can be resolved that way.

General terms and contact

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about ScreenForm, and they replace anything said before. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the unenforceable part is limited to the minimum extent necessary.

Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You may not assign this agreement without our consent. We may assign it to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

If we change these terms, we will update the effective date at the top and, for material changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use ScreenForm after that means you accept the new terms.
